There are many styles and techniques used for meditation, and no one is better than another.  For some it is an art of discipline, done in silence and solitude.  For others it may be the time spent tending the garden, or even washing the dishes.  The consistancy across all disciplines is focus and stillness of the mind.

Many meditation (as well as healing) teachings focus on the importance of the breath in achieving the meditative state.  It's spiritual value is noted throughout history and around the world.  The old testament references the word 'ruah', which means 'spirit' or 'breath'.  The word 'aloha' means 'presence of breath'.
