Reiki is a hands-on technique, but is gentle and non-manipulative.  Originating in Japan, Rei means 'God's wisdom' and Ki means 'life force energy'.  Reiki focuses on treating the whole person (body, mind, spirit and emotions).  The Reiki techniques are easy to learn, and can be used by anyone.  Responses to Reiki energy healings have been a 'feeling of well being' and 'relaxed'.

This technique was taught by Dr. Mikao Usui in the 1800's, and passed on to his students.  Today there are several branches of Reiki healing taught and practiced around the world.
