How Do I Find a Teacher? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Webmaster

In the field of metaphysics there is a broad range of services, and their description is not always clear.  How do you measure a transcendental field, and quantify the qualifications of those offering these services?  There is little correlation between education, ability, and offering.  Experience is another consideration, but an incredible healing can be given by a four-year-old, so again the tool for measuring is not so clear.

On the other hand, the match between student and provider (the teacher, reader, healer, practitioner) is important.   Here is that "apple to apple" concept of decisions based on individual tastes and needs.  For example, if someone does not like physical contact, then no massage therapist would be a good match for them, regardless of their qualifications, personality, or offerings.  It's not so much finding a good teacher, it's finding the right teacher for you.  Each of us must find what works for us.  So then, how do you tell if it's a good match?

Ask questions:
Talk with the service provider.  Please respect that persons time, too, keeping your interview questions brief.
We often discover new things through our friends.  What was their experience?

Sometimes you can decide based on a conversation, but many times experience is the only path to understanding.  Is there an introductory event or offering you can attend?

Sometimes it's really just a matter of timing.  If you need time to think, take that time.  If you need to move forward now, go with it.

Sometimes we feel a conflict between our higher self pulling us forward, and our old ways holding us back.  Just know that you have your own answers and your own path, and can make the right decision for you.
