This event took place in January, 2007. A friend came to me, telling me of a recent event that left her deeply saddened. I asked if I could share with her a reading on this event, and the energies associated with it, knowing this there was more to this than just the unfortunate event of that day. She approved, and as I looked at her current situation I was drawn to an experience she had a very long time ago. She had created a misconception, and with this she had struggled for many years. In addition, the people and problems associated with this past event had continued to move forward with her through time, and were still with her to this day, continuing the same saga without the benefit of understanding that they were all just carrying out 'an old script'. She had been unable to let go, and had carried this experience today as a reminder. But the conclusions she had come to, way back when, were based on one perception and were interpreted through youthful eyes. She matured, she changed, but the perception remained.  Over time this belief become so interwoven in her path that she could not recognize it as only an experience, it had become her truth.  Something unspoken all these years, unseen, yet never out of sight.

As I verbalized what she as spirit was showing me through images, she began to restore her own focus, not on the outcome and concepts she created, but on her true intent and desires at that earlier life event. I could see her connection to Source returning to her, and an incredible healing was now within her reach. I looked her in the eyes, and verbalized the thoughts I could hear originating from her source: “It’s okay, the actions of others are not your fault, you don’t have to hold on any longer”. Tears filled her eyes as she received this healing, and I quietly watched as she continued in her healing process. This past event had impact from that time forward: when she had disconnected herself from the trauma so many years back she had also disconnected from the love she felt for her people, and her love for herself. On this day she was reuniting with a part of herself she thought she had lost.

Afterward I reflected on this interaction, as well as the healing session I had guided someone through the night before. The topic for both of these women clearly was forgiveness and permission to release from their hearts what they perceived to be a wrongful event. I thought to myself, “Here I am, watching these people as they are given opportunity to heal. Maybe it’s okay for me to heal that part of me, too. Maybe it’s okay for me to let go of those things I’ve held on to for so long”. Though the answer was already clear, at least intellectually, I found myself stepping into another new level of understanding, creating a new pathway within myself. When I spoke with my friend later that day I thanked her for sharing this experience with me, and for providing me the opportunity to look more deeply within myself. This day had been a blessing for both of us.

Every time I do a reading I am, through intent, focusing on that person in a way that’s usually ignored or convoluted in our day-to-day life. For a moment I’m not looking at the color of their hair, their age, or even their actions. As I give their reading, describe their images and experiences, the containers they’ve created to define themselves, I am allowed to watch as they step out of those experiences and see themselves more clearly. For a moment they are the creator, not the creation. And as I watch them walk this path of discovery I can also see myself more clearly as my similar experiences resonate within me. Each time I help another re-discover their radiance I know I can give myself a moment without ‘what, should and how’.  Who knows, there might even be others who, when they look at me, have that same insight, too (a big resounding 'Yes' to that statement). For a moment they might let themselves see, with a little extra sparkle, that they too are more than the moment. This is an incredible opportunity, truly a gift. Who is the healer? We both are. Who is the recipient? We both are. Who is the light? We both are. What more could we possibly ask for?

Recognizing our creativity as expressed  through body, mind and spirit is something we can all do. I am both pleased and honored to have the tools and knowledge to help others recognize and incorporate their spiritual awareness in all aspects of their lives. Through my reading sessions I offer the opportunity to each recipient to more clearly see their dream, and make their journey a more radiant one.
