There are those who jump on the bandwagon and claim that the signs are there, that 2012 will bring changes in this world that will have a major impact on our lives. Bold shifts are not necessarily “signs”. There are solar flares that translate to minimal effect on our lives. Going back in time we could even say the “big bang” turned out pretty darn good for all of us.

Where does this leave us with the earthquakes, tsunami’s and other disasters? We see a wave of support arise in times of crisis. We do come together, and many of us offer what we can to help.

Looking at this time, with the spring equinox, and a perspective of the Mayan calendar, we can view the global vibrational level to be one of coming together.

Let us continue on with a prayer and a helping hand to those who’s lives have been turned upside down.

That last paragraph could be used in the boardroom just as well as in nature, could apply to yesterday just as much as a million years ago.

Today we have many styles of divining.  Tarot is a popular form of divination, and decks range from the traditional to animals, angels, and artistic.   Reading the signals or symbolic signs presented by animals is another form of divination, whether we see unusual behavior that signals an upcoming earthquake, or witness an unusual appearance of an animal or bird in our day.  Many study the powers of totem animal spirits, seeking answers about our own world and behavior by looking at the traits that animals represent.

Symbols are another area of study, with the Mayan calendar and the approaching 2012 a hot topic today.  The 20 glyphs and the 13 numbers of the two wheels that create the Mayan Tzolkin calendar each have their own symbolic meaning.  It is my belief that these symbols hold the key to our abilities and the evolution of our souls, and today is the best time to explore the pieces that make us whole with the 2012 shift to the current 5,000 year calendar ending.

We study psychology, and read the signs presented in a persons eyes, the tone of their voice, and their behaviors.  How is this any different than reading the signs presented in nature?  Reading the signs – everyday we can practice the art of seeing beyond our expectations.

Each day there is a shift in the Mayan calendar, the turning of two wheels.  The smaller wheel is the number wheel with thirteen numbers.  The number 13 is magical in the Mayan Tzolkin belief system.  There is a larger wheel with 20 glyphs, images that represent what the Mayans called gods, what I perceive as the strengths and abilities available to every individual.  How we utilize those abilities is our choice.

When we combine the number and glyph for the day we have a unique combination.  Looking at this calendar system from an intuitive sense the Mayan Tzolkin calendar can be seen as an insightful meditation tool.

Our world flows in cycles.  The moon cycle is a predominant part of our lives.  The Mayan Tzolkin calendar transitions as well in an ebb and flow that brings together the continued cycle of numbers with an influential attribute.  By giving focus to these attributes we can deepen our understanding of ourselves and our potential on both an individual and global level.

What are you grateful for?

• Consciousness – That I can be here and make the choice to appreciate, or not, and that by making a statement outside of what might be expected or allowed we may argue, but we can also appreciate our ability to think and feel and expand our consciousness.
• Taste – Yes this is one of the basic senses that comes as standard equipment.  We don’t often think about it, how grateful we are to have taste, and smell, and the many other senses.  Senses, sensational, sensual – We are here to experience life in so many ways!
• Connectivity – Why do we create occasions?  Is it really just a marketing ploy that guilt’s us into buying cards or presents?  We can turn our nose up to the commercial emphasis, or we can appreciate that we have the means and the opportunity to spend time together, and maybe even find value in seeing those people who at times we do not appreciate.
• Sharing – Giving doesn’t have to be depleting.  When we focus on giving thanks for those around us its good to remember that we are celebrating what they give to us, and on this one day we can even step out of our typical roles and think of one time that someone gave their time, or attention, or support.

Happy Thanks Giving
